Things I like
I’m a child of the 80’s which means the original Top Gun movie was HUGE for me. The action, the suspense, the amazing airplane dogfights, the hot guys playing volleyball on the beach. All of it. In the last couple decades I’ve become less enamored of Tom Cruise, as the weirdness of his personal life and religious beliefs have come out, and I haven’t seen many of his recent movies. But I decided I needed to see Top Gun: Maverick and I’m so glad I did. It was AMAZING!!! So freaking good! Go see it. But watch the first one again beforehand so you remember it because there are a lot of references and callbacks.
Spring is my absolute favorite season of the year. The weather is warmer, the days are longer, I can put the top of my convertible down and go cruising, the marina opens up so I can go kayaking, but most importantly, it’s time to garden! Every weekend I’m in town from March thru June you will find me in the garden, digging in the dirt. Over the last ten years, I have transformed my front yard from a blah boring lawn with a few bushes into a lush beautiful garden. And I just received my order for the new cornerstone – a hibiscus tree! I’ll be planting it this week in the corner that’s newly sunny after I took out a big Bradford pear tree that was overgrown and prone to dropping branches. I’m so excited!
I love to read and I read a lot of different genres. One of my favorites is spy novels. I recently discovered a new author of some great spy novels and am working my way through his books. Check out Charles Cumming – here’s the link to one of his books – the first in the Thomas Kell series. I really enjoyed it. If you’re into spy books, let me know if you have any recommendations for other spy novelists I should read.
Oh my God, I’m totally addicted to Wordle! If you haven’t heard of it, it’s an online word game. Every day there’s a different 5-letter word and you get six tries to guess it. The system will tell you if you guessed any correct letters and if they’re in the right spot. It’s so addictive! Try it and tell me what you think! https://www.nytimes.com/games/wordle/index.html
